We Believe:
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness.” We accept the New Testament to be our sole rule for discipline and government of the Church body.
Our God is a trinity. It contains three persons in one: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7)
Salvation is made possible by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection on the third day, and through the Holy Spirit’s conviction. (Romans 6:23, Luke 24:46, 47)
Baptism in water is by immersion and is done in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:36; 14:6,26). It is done as a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. (Acts 8:36-39)
Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a gift from God, as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers and is received after the new birth. (Acts 1:8, 2:4) The baptism of the Holy Ghost is accompanied with the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance as the initial physical sign and evidence. It is given to provide the believer with power to witness.
We observe the Lord’s Supper with unfermented wine (grape juice) and with bread (wafer), according to Matthew 26:26-28 and I Corinthians 11:23-30. We believe in feet washing as an act of humility and fellowship, according to John 13:4-17. We encourage all Christians to take part in these services.
Divine healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God, through the power of faith, and by the laying on of hands. (Mark 16:18, James 5:14-15)
The Bible promises, “this same Jesus shall so come in like manner.” (Acts 1:11). His coming is imminent; when He comes, “the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught in the air.” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17)
The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ’s forgiveness is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of repentance. (Luke 16:22-26)
We accept the first day of the week (Sunday) as our day of worship according to Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:2-9; and Acts 20:7.
We recognize the Scriptural duty of all our people, as well as ministers, to pay tithes as unto the Lord. (Hebrews 7:2; I Corinthians 16:2) The tithes should be paid to the local church. We believe the financing of the church should be by means of tithes and offerings not by compulsory assessment.
